IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager

Summary

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, The IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager is a hands-on leader with a proven track record in enterprise IT and extensive expertise in on-premise and cloud infrastructure, IT support, and change management. This individual is a collaborative leader who excels at building and maintaining strong relationships with IT teams and County partners to understand and address their business requirements while promoting a culture of security and compliance.

Essential Job Functions

1. Planning and Road mapping:

• Collaborate with the CIO in developing and implementing IT roadmap and strategies in support of the overall goals and objectives of the County.

2. Leadership and Process Improvement:

• Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

• Conduct performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities for team members.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in technology processes and operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.

3. IT Infrastructure Management:

• Hands on leadership of the design, maintenance, and optimization of the IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and desktop infrastructure in both on-premise and cloud environments.

• Ensure the security and integrity of data, applications, and systems.

4. Project Leadership:

• Lead IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

• Coordinate with various departments to understand their technology needs and implement solutions accordingly.

5. Services and Support:

• Collaborate with MSP ensuring timely resolution of user issues and inquiries.

• Manage IT processes, procedures and continuous improvement initiatives ensuring best practices in service desk operations and environment management.

6. Security & Policy:

• Develop and ensure compliance with IT policies, standards, and regulations.

• Disaster recovery planning, testing, and development of security controls.

Competencies

• Proven hands-on experience in IT Operations & Infrastructure Management.

• Strong working knowledge of network design, Cisco and Fortinet knowledge a plus.

• Strong IT leadership, organization and management skills.

• In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and security.

• Well versed in IT transformation initiatives.

• Effective change management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Working knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.

• Systems Administrator, Managed Helpdesk

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

• Onsite - Full Time M-F.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree program from an accredited institution of higher education; AND six (6) years of work experience in a complex enterprise computing environment which includes at least two (2) years of work experience in a supervisory or lead role. OR

• An Associate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree program from an accredited institution of higher education; AND eight (8) years of work experience in a complex enterprise computing environment which includes at least two (2) years of work experience in a supervisory or lead role.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

• Able to complete a thorough employment and/or criminal history check.

• Able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test (not required for all positions).

• Final candidates will be required to provide official proof of college degree and certified transcripts (not required for all positions).
