The Crook County Health Department is looking for a part-time Nurse Practitioner. 

Salary: $43.86 hourly

Closing: Open until filled

Summary: Under the general supervision of the Clinical Services Supervisor, this position is the primary healthcare provider for physical exams in the Reproductive Health Program.  The Nurse Practitioner works with the nursing staff within the clinics to assure that clinical procedures and treatments are performed in accordance with approved standing orders.  This is a part-time position. 

Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Reproductive Health Coordinator to develop, implement and maintain a
  • comprehensive a Reproductive Health Program for Crook County.
  • Provide physical examinations, including pelvic and STD exams in a clinic setting – Productivity Measures – Minimum of 2.5 clients per hour.
  • Provide assessment and diagnosis of the health status of clients and make  appropriate referrals as needed.
  • Work with the Reproductive Health Coordinator/Health Officer to establish policies, procedures and standing orders for the program.
  • Provide education, guidance and support to the Family Planning and STD program support staff.
  • Prescribe contraceptives and other medications as needed within the scope of practice. 
  • Ability to provide IUD insertion and removal.
  • Ability to provide Implanon insertion and removal.
  • Diagnosis and treat reproductive health problems.  Evaluate and refer appropriately.
  • Diagnosis and treat STD’s.  Evaluate and refer appropriately.


  • Degree Required:  BSN from an approved school of nursing and graduate level preparation as a nurse practitioner licensed in the State of Oregon.  
  • Experience: Two years additional preparation related to public health.
  • Must hold a valid Oregon driver’s license.

Prior to or on date of hire:

    • Able to complete a thorough employment and/or criminal history check.
    • Able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test (not required for all positions).
    • Final candidates will be required to provide official proof of college degree and certified transcripts (not required for all positions).
