Crook County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for Reserve Deputies. Volunteer requirements are 14 hours per month. The successful applicant will have demonstrated the drive, motivation, and determination to be successful in their profession. They will have some post high school education, preferably in police science or a related field. The successful applicant will need to be a team player, self-starter, and possess above average interpersonal skills. Must have demonstrated ability to analyze situations quickly, objectively; recognize actual and potential danger; determine proper course of action; cope with stressful situations firmly, tactfully, decisively and with respect to individual rights. The successful applicant will communicate clearly, and effectively in both oral and written forms; be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; possess the physical ability to perform the work required for fulfilling the position requirements.

Minimum qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma / or GED equivalent – some college preferred
  • No criminal record (no felony conviction or convictions involving perjury or domestic violence, or have extensive traffic violations
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a detailed background investigation, physical, physiological and physical ability exams (ORPAT)
